Terminal 1, known also as the Sheikh Rashid Terminal, is the main one for international flights, with Terminal 2 catering for both executive and charter flights.

The Sheikh Rashid Terminal is where the popular, and very large, Duty Free store is located, as well as the food court and the shopping area. Dubai International Airport operates a no-smoking policy which is closely monitored, though they do provide a number of smoking rooms for travellers, cleverly using intricate ventilation systems that remove the smoke completely, taking it away to filters that retain it. The airport also has several prayer rooms for use, which can be found in arrivals area and also the concourse.
